Hockey Mom Foundation
Liz Carone
Little did I know, when I put ice skates on our son a generation ago, that hockey would become part of our young family’s fabric from that moment forward. I hoped he would like skating and had no idea in 1970 that we would become involved with so many wonderful hockey moms as we travelled from city to city with the Buffalo Regals, Buffalo Jr. Sabres, and Harvard University.
During those Jr. Sabre experiences, I met Jane, Ruth, Barb and Judy and they enriched my life. We laughed together, traveled, saw movies, ate dinner, went to great weddings, and watched our grandchildren grow.
Three of those wonderful women left us too early. This foundation is a tribute to them and to all the hockey moms who support and watch their sons and daughters play. ~Liz Carone
